The Big West is a jump on jump off trip. This minimum 9 day (14 days recommended) circuit starting and finishing in Vancouver can be extende if you wish to stay longer anywhere as it is valid from May to October. Start from the picturesque city of Vancouver and let us lead you through the infamous rocky mountains and surrounding areas of B.C. and Alberta. This trip will take you to the following:


Leg 1 - Vancouver to Shuswap Lake


Bridal Veil Falls - Falls are named for its resemblance to a bride’s wedding veil
Kamloops – BC’s largest city by area
Shuswap Lake – Cool hostel right beside a huge recreational lake and beach!


Leg 2- Shuswap Lake to Banff


Craigellachie (Monashee Mountains) – Historic last spike on Canada’s National Railway
Rogers Pass (Selkirk Mountains) – Highest mountain pass. Famous for Avalanches!
Natural Bridge and Emerald Lake – river erosion and aqua blue lakes
Lake Louise – Most visited place in the Rockies

Leg 9 - Whistler to Vancouver

Accommodation is not included in the cost of the tour but Moose Travel Network ensures beds are available to each passenger at all major stopovers. However, the accommodation we gaurantee is only at certain youth hotels and are co-ed dorm room beds only. Passengers wishing to stay at certain places or requiring more privacy are encouraged to book their own accommodation. We guarantee a minimum of 3 departures a week from each location (departures may be as frequent as daily at certain times of the year). Schedules are available upon arrival in Canada. Most youth hostels we stop at have cooking facilities and we do grocery stops along the way. Often, we also organize group meals for those interested - it makes cooking easy and cheap! As regards your budget for the trip - most of your money will be spent in the following three areas: Accommodation - budget approximately $15-$30 Cdn. per night
Food - budget approximately $10-$25 Cdn. per day depending on how much and where you eat.
Activities - we get discounts on most activities and some such as hiking, canoeing and swimming are free, but there is always a choice!!
